Activated nuts are germinated or sprouted nuts.
Activation is undertaken by soaking organic walnuts in a solution of filtered water and Himalayan pink salt to neutralise the enzyme inhibitors. After this, the walnuts are gently dehydrated at 115F to preserve the nutrients.
Activated walnuts are lighter, less bitter and have a crunchier texture than non-activated walnuts.
